About Department

The Department of Mathematics was started during the year 2003 and upgraded as a “PG” Department in the same year.  Guest Lectures and Periodical Seminars have been conducted during every academic year to help the students to update their knowledge and skills.  The department is also giving counseling to the students to motivate their studies and overcome the difficulties faced by them during their course of studies.

Eligibility

A Pass in UG with B.Sc Maths or B.Sc Maths CA

Lab Facilities

Computer and Physics laboratory is well equipped with all the required facilities for the students through out the academic year.  Lab is open throughout the college hours which makes it easy for the students to access it any time. The computer laboratory is equipped with imported Intel 2 GB RAM work station with land server, Net server. Internet connection through very high speed 4 MB radio frequency is operating round the clock, within the college premises to help the students and staff to acquire extensive knowledge.

The most important part are Latex, MATLAB, Mathematica, MS-Office, C, C++, RDBMS, Visual Basic, Internet & Java, Oracle and Diploma in Operation Research Papers I, II, III & Project Work.  It provides better scope to obtain jobs such as designing, graphics, etc.

Seminar

• State Level Seminar “ Magnum Opus – 2010 “ held on 12.02.2010.
• One day State Level Seminar was conducted by the Department of Mathematics.  Dr.K. Balachandar, Head of the Department – Mathematics, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore delivered a lecture on “Fractional Differential Equation” and Dr.P. Srinivasan, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, The American College, Madurai, spoke on “Local Colouring in Graph”.
• Dr.M. Kalidas, Reader in Physics, St. Joseph College, Trichy delivered his lecture on “Latex” during the seminar held on 19.09.2009.
• Mr.Patrick Dominic Meyers, Mr.Vasudevan, Ms.Sathya from Bravo English Academy, Erode delivered their lecture on “Solutions to Succeed” on 03.02.2010.
