About the Department

The focus of English language has increased its momentum in today’s world.  The importance of this language has widened its horizon and provides wide job opportunities in all avenues.

Ever since the colonization of India by the British, the love for the foreign language has become a choicest note to every youngster.  Considering the fact that globalization has come to stay in India, learning of English language has become mandatory in order to get a job.  Added to it, English literature paves way for one to have a glimpse into the world of poetry, drama, novels, fiction, literary forms and the History of England.  This helps one to widen the spectrum of knowledge related to English language, in addition to, linguistics and phonetics.
